Days after the announcement that the Riverdale spinoff, Katy Keene was officially cancelled after one season, the Archieverse has been hit with bad news once again as it was revealed that the beloved Chilling Adventures of Sabrina series has also received the axe.

After two seasons, the series helmed by Kiernan Shipka will come to an end with its final eight episodes aka Part 4, which will premiere later this year.

A synopsis for the final episodes reads:

“The Eldritch Terrors will descend upon Greendale. The coven must fight each terrifying threat one-by-one (The Weird, The Returned, The Darkness to name a few), all leading up to… The Void, which is the End of All Things. As the witches wage war, with the help of The Fright Club, Nick begins to slowly earn his way back into Sabrina’s heart, but will it be too late?”

“Working on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has been an incredible honour from day one,” said showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa to TVLine. “The cast, beginning with Kiernan as everyone’s favourite teen witch, has been an absolute joy. I am beyond thankful to the crew, writers, editors, assistants, and everyone for pouring so much love into this dark dream of a show.”

Fans of the beloved series are devastated and fuming by the turn of events. Many have taken to social media to protest the cancellation of the series and some have even started petitions online to get the series renewed.

We’re super sad to see Sabrina go! Hopefully the last eight episodes will be able to give us the closure we need to move on.

In the meantime, we’ll keep our fingers and toes crossed while hoping that another network picks up the series and continues the tale of Sabrina Spellman.

Are you a CAOS fan? Were you devastated to hear about the cancellation?
