Welcome back to another day of reboots.

As is the trend lately, another iconic movie is getting a reboot/remake and this time it’s one of our favourites, Clueless.

Deadline exclusively revealed that “an hour-long Clueless TV series, based on the hit 1995 feature, is in the works at CBS TV Studios.”

According to the portal, the upcoming TV series reboot will be taking on a new, dramatic twist and will mainly center on Dionne’s character instead of our beloved Cher.

The new Clueless will be written by Jordan Reddout and Gus Hickey (Will & Grace), and is said to be a “Mean Girls meets Riverdale meets a Lizzo music video” while being set in high school.

The upcoming series will take a look at what happens when high school queen bee, Cher, disappears and her lifelong no. 2 – Dionne, steps in to take her place.

Dionne has to deal with all the pressures of being the new “most popular girl” in school while also trying to figure out the mystery of what happened to her best friend. Sounds stressful. All this drama takes place in L.A. in 2020 instead of the 90s, so we’ll definitely see that Riverdale/The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina twist.

While a dark and mysterious twist on Clueless may sound interesting to some, many of the iconic movie’s fans are not excited for the upcoming TV series reboot and tbh, same.

What are your thoughts on the Clueless series that’s in the works? Do you think it’ll do as well as the original movie? Is a reboot/remake even necessary?
