A woman in South Africa may have just lived through our worst nightmare. She is now recovering in the hospital after being found alive in a morgue refrigerator.

dead girl resurrected in the morgue fridge!

The woman was one of several people involved in a pile-up car accident which left two others dead. Distress Alert, the ambulance company that responded to the accident said that she had shown “no form of life”, thus the paramedics had certified her dead. Several hours later when a morgue worker returned to check on the body in the fridge, he found the woman breathing.

“We followed our procedures – we’ve got no idea how it happened,” Distress Alert operations manager Gerrit Bradnick said.

“The crew is absolutely devastated – we’re not in the business of declaring living people dead, we’re in the business of keeping people alive.”

According to the Bradnick, all the right checks were done, such as checking the breathing and the heart pulse. An investigation is now being launched to find out how such an incident could have taken place.

“Paramedics are trained to determine death, not us,” a source at a morgue said.

“You never expect to open a fridge and find someone in there alive. Can you imagine if we had begun the autopsy and killed her.”

No, we cannot imagine, and we certainly don’t want to!
