Before you read that wrong, we're not talking about a whole orange being dipped in chocolate and fried. It's close though.
Chocolate Oranges have been around the UK for a few years now. Mostly found during the Christmas period, Terry's Chocolate Orange is an orange-shaped ball of chocolate mixed with orange oil and divided into 20 segments, similar to a real orange.

The chocolate orange is wrapped in an orange-skin patterned foil that when packaged, causes the segments to be stuck firmly in the centre. Traditionally, the ball is tapped severely on a hard surface—to cause the segments to separate from each other—before it’s unwrapped.

To take things one step further, a fish and chip shop in Lincolnshire, UK, is offering a new treat—battered Terry's Chocolate Oranges.

Adam's Bay chip shop gave customers the chance to vote for a festive item they wanted to be deep fried, and the Chocolate Orange was a clear winner and has since been added to the menu.
"We basically put a vote out on out Facebook page to decide what customers wanted battered this Christmas. Items included mince pies, Christmas pudding and yule log but one big suggestion which came through was the Terry's Chocolate Orange," owner, Helena Papadamou said.
She added, "We tried it and it was sublime, so we decided to make it our novelty item for Christmas."

"Since we started selling them, we have sold 18 and it's all gone quite insane really. One morning as soon as we opened, someone had driven all the way from Lincoln and ordered four of the battered chocolate oranges," Helena said.
Would you give deep fried Chocolate Oranges a try?
