If you’ve watched Avengers: Infinite War, you’ll feel the pain when half of the major characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) vanished into nothing but ashes.
Curious, a fan asked James what Groot’s last line in the movie was before he, too, vanished before Rocket’s eyes. This is James’ heartbreaking response:
Groot’s last word was “Dad”—which means that as much as Groot was a rebellious teen, he saw Rocket as his father and loved his family deep down to his roots (no pun intended).
