Zhuang Zhuang is a three-year-old Labrador who recently gained internet fame for having got himself stuck in a bench after having put on some weight.
According to his owner, the doggo, who previously served as a police dog in the Changping district of Beijing, had grown a bit too thick since it retired from the police force.
Since his days on the force, the doggo’s owner noted that the Labrador had put on up to 45kg!

In a video that was uploaded on Chinese social media, the poor doggo is seen stuck in the gap between the seat and the backrest of a park bench and unable to free its body from the predicament.
According to his owner, Zhuang Zhuang was in the park for a photo session but he got too tired after a while because “he’s too fat.” While the owner and the doggo were looking for a place to rest, the dog jumped on a park bench, slipped, and got stuck in the gap.
“All the other dog owners nearby rushed over to help him,” his owner said. “We tried so many ways and finally dragged him out of the bench.”
“It took 10 minutes!” the owner added.
It took about six people to rescue the poor doggo from his unfortunate situation, but Zhuang Zhuang looked so happy to be receiving so much attention while he was being rescued!
The doggo’s owner noted that his weight gain has been an issue since the former police dog quit the service. They are currently trying to help Zhuang Zhuang shed the extra weight by feeding him less.
We hope that Zhuang Zhuang manages to shed the weight so he’s healthy and won’t get stuck in park benches again!
