Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali have become every Malaysian’s couple goals. Seeing them together just melts our hearts. We mean, look at them! They’re still so adorable and close even after 62 years of marriage.
What’s their secret? Dr M revealed that they have learnt to tolerate each other. During interviews, Dr M often mentions about their arguments especially when it comes to the matter of punctuality—she’s usually late. Even so, they have both accepted their differences and their marriage remains rock solid!
These lovebirds first met in 1946 at King Edward VII College of Medicine in Singapore and the rest was history. They got married in 1956 and together, they have seven beautiful children.

When asked what about Siti Hasmah attracted him, he said, “Actually, there were not many girls in those days and she was the only girl taking the medical course who was a Malay. So naturally, we gravitated towards the only girl in the group and eventually, well, I suppose I fell in love with her.”
