We’ve some crazy things with pets lately. Like recently, there was a puppy called Narwhal that was born with a tail in the middle of its forehead.
Now, a new puppy has caught the attention of the internet for being born with green fur!
Yup, you read that right. Green fur.

When Shana Stamey’s family’s white German Shepherd, Gypsy, was about to have puppies, she never expected that one of them would come out green.
Gypsy was expecting a litter of eight and everything was going fine until the fourth puppy popped out with lime-green fur.
“And then I realised the puppy was moving, and he was lime green,” Shana said.

Everything went according to plan with Gypsy’s first litter except that one of her pups was green in colour.
“She’s done really good,” Shana added. “She’s a good mum.”
According to Junaluska Animal Hospital veterinatian technician Suzanne Cianciulli, there’s a reason as to why the puppy came out with green fur.
“The sack that they’re in when they’re in their mom, there can be meconium in there and that tends to stain them,” she said. FYI, meconium is an infant mammal’s earliest stool that can especially colour white fur.
“I knew it wasn’t like harmful,” said Shana. “But I still had to look it up again to make sure. Mom licks it away until I bathe it and then, I guess after a couple of weeks, it will finally like fade out.”

And of course, Shana and her family decided to give the new puppy the most appropriate name. Hulk.
“Hulk! It was lime green,” she said. “He was super mad [when he came out]. So, yeah, he became Hulk.”
Of course, the family discussed different naming possibilities before ending up with Hulk.
“We thought about Gremlin, yeah, Pistachio,” Shana said. “We call him Mr. Green sometimes.”
“[He’s] a good luck charm. We think so,” Shana added. “He’s pretty special.”

Hulk may stand apart from his brothers and sisters for now, but the pup’s lime-green colour is slowly and gradually fading to white.
“Because he’s yellow now, someone said Pikachu,” Shana laughed.
Unfortunately, Shana and her family will not be able to keep the puppies due to a lack of space. According to the owner, if her family had a big farm, they’d definitely keep the puppies.
For now, the family plans on looking for loving families to adopt the puppies once they’re old enough.
Of course, everyone on the internet has fallen in love with the adorable green (some say yellow) puppy.
We’re definitely in love with Hulk and hope he ends up with a loving family!
