In conjunction with the upcoming Thaipusam celebration, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTM Berhad) will be offering 24 hour train services for the next four days and three nights beginning from Jan 19th to KTM Batu Caves.
Over two million people are expected to use the KTM train services this year compared to 1.3 million from last year!
According to the General Manager of KTM Berhad, S.Mahendra, these train lines would stay active:
- Seremban-Batu Caves and Batu Caves-Seremban
- Port Klang-KL Sentral and KL Sentral-Port Klang routes
On top of that, an additional 132 trains and shuttle buses will be added to ease the expected congestion at the Batu Caves station.
Passengers are reminded to purchase the Komuter Link or Touch n Go cards in order to continue their journey to their destinations. In view of Thaipusam, the Komuter Link cards are now sold at a discounted price of RM3 instead of RM5.
Meanwhile, senior citizens, disabled people and children aged between two and six are also eligible to obtain a 50 per cent discount.
Have a safe journey, and have a blessed Thaipusam!
