Yesterday’s Wednesday was a little different compared to the past Wednesdays we’ve been having.

For several years now, on every Wednesday, most Malaysians will sit at the edge of their car seats while they wait to see if fuel prices will go up or or down for the coming week.
Well, yesterday was Pakatan Harapan’s first Wednesday since they’ve been in power, and all Malaysians can relax, because for this week—and probably for the next few weeks—our Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has announced that fuel prices will stay the same.

The News Straits Times reported that during a press conference at the Perdana Leadership Foundation, Tun M stated that fuel prices will stay the same, as it has for the last six weeks. He also hinted that the fuel prices will stay the same until further notice because “the government will subsidise” the fuel prices if it goes up.

He hasn’t confirmed how long the fuel prices will stay the same or if the float system will remain in place, but we’re glad to hear that we don’t have to worry about fuel prices for the time being.
Incase y’all forgot, fuel prices are as follows:
RON95: RM2.20 per litre
RON97: RM2.47 per litre
Diesel: RM2.18 per litre
Euro 5 Diesel: RM2.28 per litre
