After the post went viral, someone revealed that the person did the same last year! A screenshot of the record from Strava—an app that records your running stats—was posted and showed the runner having a pace of 1 minute/km!
The marathon used a time chip to record a runner’s pace. These time chips were detected at checkpoints. However, the screenshot showed missing records of the runner at the checkpoints after the 10th km, and only the finish checkpoint was recorded.
Many netizens commented on the issue, urging the organisers to take action on the matter to prevent something like this from happening again.
Were you at the marathon? Did you see this man in action?
