It is now considered the golden age for superhero series and movies, with the success of the recent Aquaman movie and pretty much all the Avengers movie! And now another superhero saga is going to take the world by storm!
We’ve been hearing about the superhero series The Umbrella Academy and they just dropped the latest trailer!
The series tells the story of 7 children that were given birth by women that showed no signs of pregnancy and adopted by a billionaire industrialist called Sir Reginald Hargreeves.
Reginald then creates The Umbrella Academy and prepares his “children” to save the world, but the family fractured and the team was disbanded… until the day Reginald died.
The remaining six members of the academy came together to solve their father’s death and to stop the apocalypse at the same time.
The series is adapted from a comic book series with the same name! Get to know the characters of The Umbrella Academy:
#1 Luther Hargreeves/ Spaceboy (Tom Hopper)
An aspiring astronaut with super strength and has a body of a Martian Ape.
#2 Klaus Hargreeves / The Séance (Robert Sheehan)
A telekinesis that is able to communicate with the dead. Also a slacker.
#3 Allison Hargreeves / The Rumor (Emmy Raver-Lampman)
Described as a narcissist and has the ability to manipulate reality by lying.
#4 Diego Hargreeves / The Kraken (David Castañeda)
A troublemaker with the ability to hold his breath indefinitely and gifted knife-throwing skills.
#5 Number Five / The Boy (Aidan Gallahger)
The unnamed boy with the ability to time travel with the cost of accelerated aging while maintaining the same appearance.
#6 Vanya Hargreeves / The White Violin (Ellen Page)
The only member of the Hargreeves family with no superpowers but is an expert at playing the violin.
The comic book series was initially supposed to be made into a film back in 2010 before it was developed into a TV series!
The Umbrella Academy is set for release this coming 15th of February 2019! Is anyone else as excited as we are?
