Nowadays, potholes are so common on roads that many have taken it upon themselves to fix them for everyone’s safety.
One pothole in Indonesia however, was so huge that a man was able to take “baths” and go “fishing” in it.

Videos and images of a man bathing and fishing in a giant pothole in Central Lombok, Indonesia, recently went viral and gained a lot of attention online.
This was not the only massive pothole that was often flooded in the city that usually experiences heavy traffic. Some residents in the area have alleged that these giant potholes have been neglected by officials for a long time now.
To do something about these dangerous potholes, a few individuals have taken to performing various stunts in hopes that they’ll be able to get the road authorities’ attention.
Amaq Ohan’s video in particular has gained thousands of views as many were confused to see him casually sitting fully clothed in the middle of a giant flooded pothole and lathering himself with soap as he scoops the muddy water to wash himself – all done while motorists pass by with bemused glances.
Besides taking a bath, Amaq was also seen sitting under an umbrella in the flooded pothole with a fishing pole!
The man sits casually cross-legged on a plastic chair, in attempt to catch the non-existent fishes, to prove his point in a hilarious manner.

Though Amaq’s actions may seem hilarious to some, the Indonesian man reached his aim when road authorities finally decided to fix the giant pothole that has been causing distress to many.
“The road’s been in terrible condition for months and has caused accidents on a number of occasions,” Rian Mahesa, who took the videos, told detikNews. “Many motorcyclists have slid and fell there.”
When Amaq’s videos went viral, the local authorities took notice and decided to take action by attending to the potholes.
Though local residents shared that the potholes have long been causing problems, one official who confirmed that the potholes were being fixed, dismissed the claims that road work had begun too late.
“No such thing as ‘too late’,” the official said. “It’s clear that the authorities are working quickly to respond to the ideals and demands of the people.”

“Thankfully, the authorities have responded and fixed the potholes,” Amaq shared. “Hopefully these badly damaged roads will become the prime attention of the authorities. I also hope that these repairs are not just temporary fixes.”
Luckily this giant pothole in Indonesia is fixed, now we’re just waiting for all the potholes on Malaysian roads to be repaired too…
