Every spring, you’ll notice your IG feeds being flooded by pictures of sakura trees in Japan.

The flower is such a big deal over there—it’s also Japan’s national symbol! So it’s no surprise that people have put sakura into their foods and drinks—to be consumed, not just for decorations!
You may be thinking:
Sakura petals don’t really have much flavour, but the taste and aroma become more concentrated when they’re freeze-dried or pickled in vinegar then salted.
