We in Malaysia are not the only ones under a Movement Control Order. Others around the world are currently experiencing their own versions of a lockdown as we all do our best to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Unfortunately, not everyone is being responsible and staying home.

Like this Italian man who broke lockdown to catch Pokémon.

According to Italian publication Leggo, a man from the Como province of Italy was charged for disregarding the nation-wide lockdown because he needed to hunt Pokémon on his Pokémon Go.

The 31-year-old was located roughly 40 kilometers north of Milan with his daughter when he was stopped by the primary police force – the Italian Carabinieri.

The police questioned the man as to why he was outside his premises and defying the lockdown rules. He then justified himself by saying, “I have to hunt the Pokémon.”

Unfortunately, his justification was not a good enough reason for him being outside and the police issued him a fine.

“Investigations by the military have made it possible to reconstruct the fact in its entirety,” Leggo reports.

“The 31-year-old had gone out with his daughter, to then accompany the girl home and linger on the street to continue playing Pokémon Go. The Carabinieri, at that point, could not help but report it.”

So wherever you are, be responsible and know that going outside to catch Pokemon is really not a good enough excuse. You can always catch em’ all after…

Stay safe and stay at home! Together we can #FlattenTheCurve!
