According to the Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB), KLIA is currently still facing disruptions of its systems which causes delays to scheduled flights. Due to this fact, passengers are still advised to arrive at least four hours before their scheduled departure times.

As of 7am, it is still unclear as to when the issues will be solved but MAHB are working around the clock to stabilise their systems at KLIA. The technical issues were only supposed to last one day, but unfortunately it seems that the problems are still persisting into day two.

In their 8pm update last night, MAHB noted that hardware equipment replacements were required and testing was conducted yesterday evening.

As of 10pm yesterday, 68 flights were reported to be delayed and passengers were urged to contact their respective flights to get the latest flight schedules.

Malaysia Airports are doing everything they can to ease the inconvenience of passengers and have utilized all 38 remote bays at the KLIA Main Terminal because of the delays. They have deployed four additional buses and ground handling services from airlines.

MAHB have also provided free parking to all passengers who parked at the main terminal (Block A, B, C, D) until 6am today (23rd August) as many had encountered delays.

In a statement released, MAHB noted that as at 6am today, “the team is still in the midst of stabilizing the system at KUL. As mentioned earlier, the systems disruption has caused flight delays.”

Passengers who are travelling today have been advised to once again to reach at least four hours before their scheduled departure time and to check-in via the respective airlines’ mobile app or website.

While the situation may seem to be dragging on forever, please do be patient with the MAHB staff as their doing all they can to ease the inconvenience of passengers during this time.

Passengers have also been advised to reach out to airport staff for immediate assistance or if you require additional information regarding your flight details.

Keep checking in on the airport’s official social media to get more of the latest updates.

Share this with anyone you know who’s travelling today so they don’t miss their flight!
