After getting into an argument with his mother, a 12-year- old Australian boy impulsively bought a flight ticket to Bali… using the family credit card. The boy was also able to fool his grandmother into giving him his passport!

This stunt was possible because certain airlines in Australia allow minors to travel solo, so long as they can provide their school ID and a valid passport.
So, how did it happen? One morning, the boy told his parents that he was off to school. Instead, he caught a train to the Sydney airport. There, he used the self-service check-in amenity, passed security, and voila, was off on his holiday!
Upon arriving, he checked-into the four-star All Seasons Hotel, telling staff that his sister would join him later. In the meantime, his mother had reported him missing and said she was shocked to find out about his current whereabouts. The boy was then flown back home to Sydney.
