Some might say that Stephen Chow is one of the funniest actor/director in the industry, with hilarious unforgettable classics like Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle. If you happen to be a fan of his work, there’s good news for you!
Stephen Chow just confirmed that a sequel to the 2004 movie Kung Fu Hustle is in development and will be coming soon!
He revealed that he will be directing Kung Fu Hustle 2 after he finish filming the sequel to his 2016 film, The Mermaid.
But if you’re looking to see more of Stephen Chow in the sequel, you’d probably be disappointed because Stephen says that he will most likely only appear as a cameo in the movie!
"I might consider playing someone who gets beaten up - I can't fight that well anymore!" he joked.
He added that the movie “would be a modern-day kung fu story set in a foreign country” and won’t be a direct sequel to the first movie, but more of a “spiritual follow-up” and will “have its own standalone story.”
Kung Fu Hustle is considered as one of the classic martial movie of all time and currently have a 90% score on Rotten Tomatoes!
