For many, the bond between a pet and its owner is filled with so much love that it’s almost unbelievable.

A cat in Kelantan proves just how strong that bond is, even beyond the grave.

Six-year-old Nana’s love for her owner is so strong that even two years after his death, the cat visits her late owner’s grave daily.

Speaking to Malay Mail, Hazlynn Nozi - the late owner’s daughter; shared that her father was a retired teacher who was very fond of cats and always looked after his cats.

“But six-year-old Nana had a special bond with dad,” Hazlynn said. “She was extremely close to him.”

“Nana has been visiting dad’s grave every morning and it would just sit down next or even sleep next to his grave,” she added.

According to the daughter, when her father was still alive, he was the one who always fed Nana before going to the mosque in the mornings.

“Nana always followed dad to the mosque and waited for him to finish his prayers before she followed him back home,” Hazlynn shared.

“There was a bond that this particular cat had with dad as compared to the other cats at home.”

When her father passed away two years ago, Hazlynn noted that Nana initially lost her appetite and some weight.

“She was better after three months and started eating normally but she would also linger around where dad spent his time — like on the swing which was dad's favourite spot or even sit on his old car,” she said.

“And she has been loyally visiting his grave since he passed away two years ago.”

Sharing Nana’s tale of loyalty on the Kelab Pencinta Kuching Malaysia (Group)’s Facebook page, Hazlynn share that Nana was the first to arrive at its owner’s grave the day after he was laid to rest.

"Can you imagine, it was already sitting there waiting for us when we arrived. It reached the graveyard earlier than your children, father,” the Facebook post read. “Please forgive us father."

From then on, every time the family visited the grave, Nana was sure to be there.

Now, Nana returns home every morning with its paws wet from the morning dew after visiting its beloved owner, to ask for food.

Hazlynn shared her hopes that this experience with the loyal cat would remind people to be kind to all living beings, even if it’s just a cat.

We truly don’t deserve our pets! This cat’s strong bond and loyalty makes us want to hold our pets just a little closer today!

Do you know if any other pets as loyal as Nana? Share their stories with us!
