According to the Global Peace Index (GPI), Malaysia has moved up four places and is now the 25th most peaceful country in the world.
Malaysia also retained its position as the fifth most peaceful country in the Asia-Pacific region after Australia, Japan, Singapore and New Zealand.
Sadly, the overall level of global peacefulness has declined for the fourth consecutive year, falling by another 0.27%. This has been caused by a rise in terrorist activities, Middle Eastern conflicts and heightened political tensions.
