While some of us may still be recovering from the Standard Chartered’s Kuala Lumpur International Marathon that took place last Sunday, a Malaysian woman is currently enduring another marathon on
the other side of the world.
Meet Datin Sue Ding, a 41-year- old who’s competing in the world’s hardest marathon as of yet—the Marathon des Sables (MdS) in the Sahara Desert!
Why is it the hardest, you ask? Well, because the Sahara Marathon is 250km and will take eight days to complete. Also, it’s the largest hot desert in the world with temperatures up to 47˚C.

Imagine going through all of that for eight days… but all for a good cause, of course! The England-based law practitioner wishes to raise a quarter of RM1 million for Make-A- Wish-Malaysia and Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better.
So, cheer on for participant 784! You go, girl!
