Many of us had Barbie dolls growing up and some even dreamt of having their own versions of the dolls themselves!

While we may not have our own versions, one Malaysian does and it’s none other than Olympic gymnast Farah Ann!

American toy company Mattel, has made Malaysia’s artistic gymnast Farah Ann Abdul Hadi her very own Barbie doll and it’s looks amazing!

The SEA Games gold medalist’s Barbie is made in her likeness and has jet-black hair and wears a silver-studded leotard in pink, gold, and white.

The 26-year-old’s Barbie doll is the first and only one-of-a-kind doll created in Malaysia and unfortunately it’s not available in retail stores.

“I am very honoured to be recognised as a Barbie role model for young girls in sports,” Farah Ann shared in a press statement.

“I believe that all of us are capable in achieving our dreams and goals no matter what it may be,” the gymnast continued. “You just need to remember that self-belief is your greatest weapon in achieving anything.”

Farah Ann’s Barbie doll is part of Mattel’s 2020 campaign, “You Can Be An Athlete” which aims to encourage young girls to pursue a career in sports through inspiring female athletes.

Squash champion Nicol Ann David, Olympic diver Leong Mun Yee, bowler Shahlin Zulkifli, and speed skater Anja Chong have also been included as role models in this campaign.

Mattel also shared a video of the athlete inspiring a young girl while at the gym and it even included footages of Farah Ann when she was a 9-year-old girl and dreaming of one day becoming a star.

Farah Ann is the third Malaysian artistic gymnast to qualify for the Olympics and she will be competing in the upcoming Tokyo Olympics.

Congratulations Farah Ann on the Barbie doll! The honour is definitely very well deserved!
