According to the Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan), the panda cub was born at 8.30pm on 31st May and is the third cub to Liang Liang and her partner Xing Xing since their arrival in Malaysia in 2014.

Perhilitan shared that the birth of Liang Liang and Xing Xing’s third giant panda cub is anoter success of the Giant Panda Conservation Centre under the Giant Panda International Conservation Cooperation Agreement Programmed that was brought to life between the governments of Malaysia and China in 2012.

Liang Liang and Xing Xing were first brought to Malaysia from the Chinese government on 21st May 2014, to symbolize the 40th anniversary of Malaysia-China diplomatic relations.

The panda pair will stay in our beloved country, on loan, for 10 years.
