Get your calculators out and raise them high because our very own “Human Calculator” not only made it to the Asia’s Got Talent finals but also placed second overall!

15-year-old, Yaashwin Sarawanan– who earned the nickname “Human Calculator” because of his mind-blowing math skills, made history by becoming the first ever Malaysian act to place in the top two on the show.

Yaashwin beat out seven other finalist, including Malaysia’s NAMA, to place in the top two alongside Taiwanese magician, Eric Chien.

“I didn’t expect to reach this far,” Yaashwin said. “People don’t expect to be entertained by numbers. So I’m happy to see people entertained by what I do.”

After his historic win, Yaashwin humbly took to his social media to praise Eric on his win and to thank his fans for their undying support.

“First and foremost, hugest congratulations to Eric Chien for being crowned the winner of @asiasgottalent Season 3 2019. You are beyond amazing and hopefully we all get to see you perform even more mesmerizing magic,” he wrote.

“As for me I am just so grateful for making it this far. It is definitely a dream come true. All praises goes to God, my parents, family, teachers, friends and all my supporters especially my fellow Malaysians!” he continued. “I wouldn’t be here without all of you.”

“Many people tell me that what I do is too easy and they want to see more. I accept the fact that I’m nowhere near amazing. But I promise that I will keep practicing to improve my skills and become a better person. Once again THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!”

We’re also proud of Malaysia’s second act in the final, NAMA, who became the judges’ pick and made it through to the finals. Although they didn’t make it past the bottom three, getting into the finals is a huge accomplishment!

CONGRATULATIONS Yaashwin and NAMA!
