Subhash Yada from Uttar Pardesh’s Jaunpur district was challenged by a friend to eat 50 eggs and should he complete the challenge, he’d receive Rs 2,000 (RM113).
The 42-year-old accepted his friend’s challenge and managed to consume 41 eggs and was working on his 42nd egg when he collapsed and fell unconscious.
The man was rushed to the hospital but sadly, he passed away a short time later.
An investigation was then launched to understand how and why the man had passed away from eating all the eggs.

Experts believe that the excessive amount of eggs could have caused a sever disruption to Subhash’s digestive system. According to Medizzy, this could have lead to aspiration and “impaired cardiac functioning” due to egg yolks being high in cholesterol.
A study on the medical website found that daily egg consumption, can increase a person’s risk of death by 7%.
Though more investigation is needed into this claim, it is believe that the egg yolk plays a large part in this increase.
“Our findings suggest replacing whole eggs with egg whites or other alternative protein sources for facilitating cardiovascular health and long-term survival,” Yigu Zhang of Zhejiang University in China said. “The increased mortality was largely influenced by cholesterol intake.”

Professor Riyaz Patel, Consultant Cardiologist at University College London, added that, “For most people, eggs can be eaten in moderation as part of a balanced diet, unless they have been advised not to for a specific medical or dietary reason”
In a separate study, the Feinberg School of Medicine found that eating 300mg of dietary cholesterol per day has been associated with a 17% higher risk of incident of cardiovascular disease and a 18% increased risk of death.
Just so you know, one large egg contains 186mg of dietary cholesterol in the yolk alone.

Co-corresponding study author Associate Professor Norrina Allen noted that the research highlighted how people should ensure they keep their diet balanced.
“Our study showed if two people had the exact same diet and the only difference in diet was eggs, then you could directly measure the effect of the egg consumption on heart disease,” the professor shared.
“We found cholesterol, regardless of the source, was associated with an increased risk of heart disease.”

We know eggs are delicious in every way, but please remember that eggs are high cholesterol and eating too many eggs can increase the risk of heart disease.
Everything in moderation and maybe… don’t just attempt challenges blindly…
