We hear women complain about men behaving like children all the time and now science haven finally proven that!

A research undertaken by Oxford University clarified that a continuous growth of functional and structural network characteristics extending into adulthood distinguishes the maturation of the human brain. The goal of this study was to find out which characteristics change during maturation and which ones stay the same.

The study was conducted on 121 men and women aged between 4 to 40 years old, and focused on the maturation of the brain and how prolonged development of functional and structural network properties transform into adulthood.

Scientists used brain imaging to examine the brains of the 121 respondents. They also tracked the changes in the various functions, taking into account the participants' age and gender.

The findings of this experiment indicated that while men and women's brains end up developing the same ability to function in everyday life, males often demonstrate a delay in the continuous growth of functional networks compared to women. Ladies’, however, indicated that these networks are deteriorating more prematurely. That's why males are said to mature later than females in life.

Another study also proved that while men's brains are larger than women’s, women's brains are more efficient. It shows better memory, more neutral connections, for example, and a detailed perception of colour and flavour.

So if someone were to yell at you and ask you why are men always so childish, we have science to explain it!

Do you agree that men mature slower than women? Let us know!
