‘Mi Goreng Toastie’ Is Now A Thing And Everyone Is Loving The New Combo!

Move over mi goreng, there’s a new player in town!

Imagine this. Your favourite mi goreng and telur dadar mixed with cheese and mayo, stuffed in between two slices of toast.

Or, as it’s officially called, the “Mi Goreng Toastie”

A café in Sydney decided to take a different route by creating the new combo that has become an instant hit with the locals. After testing it our on their menu for a limited time in 2017, the “Moastie” has now found a permanent place on the café’s menu.

The Dutch Smuggler’s fusion sandwich which is filled of yellow noodles fried with traditional spices and spring onion; a fried egg, cheddar cheese and spicy mayo; has won the hearts of many.

In fact, the sandwich became such a hit that it was even voted as one of Sydney’s best sandwiches of 2019 by Australia’s Good Food guide!

Andrew Levins who wrote in Good Food, called the Moastie “an absolute banger.”

Hmm… We’re skeptical but at least we don’t need to travel all the way to Sydney just to try it! We’ll test it out in our own kitchens! But for now, we’ll stick to our plain ol’ Mi Goreng.
