During her acceptance speech, the actress shared about how she used to watch the Oscars in her home in South Korea, and that it was an absolutely surreal experience to be present at the prestigious awards ceremony.

“Me, being here by myself, I cannot believe I’m here…. Let me pull myself together,” she said while thanking the Academy.

For those who have yet to see the movie, Minari tells the tale about a family who move to Arkansas, USA, from South Korea to start a new life. With more challenges than they expected, the family ends up bringing the their unconventional grandmother – played by Yuh-jung; to live with them.

Yuh-jung has been winning big during this current awards season.

Besides the Oscar, the actress has also won a Screen Actors Guild Award and a BAFTA for her role in the heart-warming movie.
