All of us in Malaysia are currently staying home thanks to the FMCO and some of us know just how hard it is to stay in.
One mother however, found the perfect solution to her teenage son’s restlessness.
She decided to give him an embarrassing haircut to discourage him from going out during the lockdown.

To ensure that her son followed the lockdown rules in Taiwan as they deal with a new Covid-19 outbreak, a mother from Kaohsiung decided to take extreme measures.
Concerned that her child would end up leaving the house, she took her 15-year-old son to the hair salon for a hair cut, with the teen thinking he’d be just getting a simple trim.

The mother discussed her intentions with the hair dresser and said that she wanted a haircut that would stop him from going out.
First, they thought about shaving the word “Covid-19” into the teen’s head but they decided against it saying that it would not be effective as the 15-year-old would want to show it off to his friends.
Speaking to EBC News, Huang Ling Xiang – the hairdresser, shared that they eventually decided to shave the top half of the teenager’s hair to make him look like a balding man.

According to the hairdresser, they did not show or clear the haircut with the teen before it was cut.
The teenager was of course upset and embarrassed by his new haircut and he scolded his mother for doing this to him.

After the boy’s unfortunate haircut went viral, the salon received many queries from other parents, which prompted them to run a free “Covid-19 preventive” promotion for all teens aged between 12 and 15 who dislike staying at home.
Many netizens in Taiwan were on the mother and hairdresser’s side but some also said that the act was excessive.
One user commented with the perfect response to the situation saying that hair can always grow back, but a pandemic might get out of control.
