Let’s be honest it’s always tiring to take flights and the price can be costly at times. But we might soon be able to take a bullet train that leads us straight to Thailand, China, Vietnam and Singapore!
Bangkok has reportedly started building routes for their high-speed bullet train as part of the upgrade to the country’s transport system and Kuala Lumpur is included as part of their “Trans-Asean Line”!
The rail route will link Bang Sue with Chiang Mai in the North, Laos in the Northeast, Cambodia in the East and Malaysia in the South and all the way to Singapore!
This will be the first time for Thailand to have such a modern transport network and it will cost about RM277.7 billion (2.97 trillion baht) to build the infrastructure system that covers 3,193 kilometers!
The first route linking Bangkok to Nong Khai, Thailand, is scheduled to be completed by 2023 and the tracks for the route between Vientiane (Laos) and Mohan (China) is almost 55% completed.
But the southern route that link Malaysia and Singapore to the high-speed bullet train in Bangkok are currently still under study and the Thai government is still preparing a new agreement for it.
Let’s hope the agreement comes through so we too can start taking the high-speed bullet train straight to Thailand, China and Singapore!
Do you know someone that loves travelling to these countries? Let them know the good news!
