At only 22-years-old, Nur izzati has made a name for herself in a male-dominated field and has since been dubbed the “Iron Lady.”
Nur Izzati was born and raised in Kampung Kuala Sungai Rambutan, Rantau Panjang, Perak. She then graduated from Kolej Vokasional Taiping where she was the only female student in her course.
While the course was indeed challenging, she did not receive any special treatment from her instructors or course mates. This in turn helped the “Iron Lady” to adapt better and motivated her to improve herself.

Underwater welding is considered one of the “world’s most dangerous jobs” which involves working in a deep and risky environment with minimal visibility.
The 22-year-old’s job scope includes repairing ships, dams, pipelines, offshore drilling rigs, locks and sub-sea habitat.
Speaking to the New Strait Times, she said, “Since small, I love to try new things and do things that test my limits. It’s just my nature.”

Besides taking on risks as an underwater welder, Nur Izzati is also an assistant instructor at the Weldzone Training Centre, Seri Manjung – where she had completed her course.
“I had no idea about welding when I signed up for the course,” she noted. “I simply wanted to try something new.”
After Twitter user, @F4HM1EY, tweeted about her accomplishments in becoming Malaysia’s first ever female underwater welder, the Twitter has been full of love and support for Nur Izzati.
We’re definitely super proud of Nur Izzati’s accomplishments in breaking down barriers and inspiring women to achieve whatever goals they’ve set out for themselves!
