Have you ever been in a situation where you’re out in public and you really, really need to use the toilet but can’t find one? Now, there’s an app for that.

Recently, the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) introduced a mobile application called My Water Closet (MyWC) for users to locate public toilets nationwide. Yes, you read that right!
The app was launched in conjunction with World Toilet Day on 26th January and the app helps to make it easier for the public to get the necessary information about the lavatories they’d want to go to, based on the star ratings.

That’s not all! The app also provides information like the charges, facilities available, whether or not it caters to the disabled, if it has a diaper changing room and more- it’s THAT precise!

Deputy Minister, Senator Datuk Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah Raja Ahmad Baharuddin Shah, said that basic data on 2,620 public toilets owned by the ministry and the local authorities (PBT) nationwide was gathered in order to develop the app.
Datuk Raja Kamarul Bahrin added that he was confident that the app would be very useful for both Malaysians and tourists, who are in search of clean toilets!
It’s about time we promoted and cultivated the culture of having clean lavatories. We’ve got this, Malaysia!
