Just in case you need another reason to love our new Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir, pictures surfacing on the Internet have been showing that the leader of the country is a humble man that we can all relate to.
Here are some everyday items—we’re sure you probably own at least one of these too—that he has been seen out and about with:
#1 Pilot Ball Liner
If you look carefully, you’ll notice that our PM have a black pen clipped to his shirt all the time. Someone then pointed out that the pen he used during his swearing-in ceremony was also the same one—a Pilot ball liner! No need for fancy fountain pens here.
#2 Bata Sandals
Our PM also became an overnight sensation after a photo of him and his Bata sandals went all over the internet.
#3 Berocca
A photo of Tun Dr Mahathir and his wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah at their dining table gave us a peek into their daily lives. Not only do they eat simple meals, it was revealed that Tun Dr M’s multivitamin supplement of choice is the common Berocca!
#4 Bush Jacket
Tun M’s signature bush jacket recently became became quite the sensation. A twitter user also jokingly said that whenever he has his bush jacket on, “he means business”—much like how superheroes suit up before a fight!
There’s an important lesson about humility to be learned here. The man is the leader of the country and can most definitely afford expensive things, yet he chooses not to. Remember, the brands that you wear don’t define you—it’s your character that will speak for itself.
