While many of us are still trying to adapt to daily life under the Movement Restriction Order, there are some out there who are soaking up every bit of the isolation.
Like these penguins!
All over the world, different countries are taking different approaches to dealing with the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. One similarity we all have is to avoid as much public gatherings as possible.
Taking this into account, aquariums are taking preventative steps by closing their doors to the public. But what happens to the animals inside them?
Well, a couple of aquariums are taking this human-free opportunity to let their penguins to leave their habitats and explore the rest of the aquariums.
Shedd Aquarium in Chicago is one of them!
“Without guests in the building, caretakers are getting creative in how they provide enrichment to animals,” the aquarium said to the Chicago Tribune. “Introducing new experiences, activities, foods and more to keep them active, encourage them to explore, problem-solve and express natural behaviours.”
Of course, the Twitterverse is full of love for these penguins who just want to take a walk to visit their friends around the aquarium!
While the seriousness of COVID-19 has forced the aquarium to close, it’s nice to know that there are these adorable penguins out there who are probably having the time of their lives!
Animals may not be able to contract the virus but humans sure do so be sure to keep yourself safe and healthy, wash your hands, avoid touching your face, and keep a good #SocialDistance.
Together we can #FlattenTheCurve!
