The PlayStation 5 has been released around the world and while many owners are enjoying the new console, some are left disappointed.
According to reports, some people who have pre-ordered the highly anticipated PS5, have been receiving cat food instead of the console!

For those of you who shop online, you’ll know the excitement of waiting for your parcel to be delivered. Once the delivery makes it way to your home, the excitement only continues as you enjoy your purchase.
A large number of people who were expecting the PS5 from Amazon however, were disappointed.
Kyonashi was one of them. When he opened his delivery, he found that he had been delivered a large box of cat food instead of the console.
“So after a failed lunchtime delivery and a quick chat with support, my Amazong order swung back around to be delivered around 10pm,” Kyonashi wrote on RestEra. “Opened the box to this pleasant surprise, with mismatched unbranded tape.”

And Kyonashi was not alone.
Journalist Bex May took to Twitter to share that instead of receiving the PS5 she ordered, she received an air fryer!
“Delivery was fake ‘missed’ at midday with a ‘we couldn’t deliver’ message (with no attempt at delivery made),” she tweeted. “Now looks like it was siphoned off then before reappearing this evening, replaced with an air fryer inside.”
Several other customers too have reported similar “missed” deliveries, some claimed that a courier did arrive but the delivery person did not exit their vehicle and drove off after several seconds.
“Just tracked the driver and saw he was a couple of houses away on the map,” a customer shared. “Next thing the van rolls up, backs up to my drive then stops.”
“Driver doesn’t get out, pauses for 10 seconds then drove away. Package then said handed to resident and delivered.”
Other unhappy customers who received everything but the PS5 they ordered took to social media with their complains and frustrations.
The shipping company has since issued a statement on the matter saying:
“We’re all about making our customers happy, and that hasn’t happened for a small proportion of these orders. We’re really sorry about that and are investigating exactly what’s happened. We’re reaching out to every customer who’s had a problem and made us aware so we can put it right. Anyone who has had an issue with any order can contact our customer services team for help.”
If we were in these customers shoes, we’d be frustrated and angry about not receiving the PS5 too! Hopefully the customers will be able to get their PS5!
Are you waiting on your PS5 too? Fingers cross that it’s the right package!
