If you had grown up in the 1980s or a movie buff, then you would’ve heard the name John Rambo before. It’s this guy, and he’s been played by Sylvester Stallone since 1982:
The action-packed films (there are five, including this one!) revolve around Rambo, a US Army Veteran, who suffers from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) after serving in the Vietnam War. Rambo’s almost a super human with the skills he has from his experience—he uses them to fight against his enemies such as drug cartels and corrupted police.
Since the movie is coming out in Malaysia this 19 September, we’re gonna give you 5 reasons why you should watch it:
#1 The action man is 73 years old and is probably fitter than a young man at the gym

Sly Stallone is showing no signs of stopping at the age of 73. This isn’t his first iconic role—he’s also known for the Rocky franchise, playing wrestler Rocky Balboa. His more recent movies include Creed 2, The Expendables 3 and Escape Plan: The Extractors.
What makes him so watchable is that while he not only showcases his strength through his action movies, but also raw human emotions. So it’s no surprise he was nominated for an Oscar twice!
Rambo: Last Blood will see him trying to save his niece, who has been kidnapped by a sadistic Mexican drug cartel. With such high stakes, there’s no doubt Rambo’s gonna go all out to seek revenge and save her.
#2 Rambo himself co-wrote this movie with screenwriter Matt Cirulnick

Besides acting in it, Stallone also contributed to writing the script for Rambo: Last Blood. Hey, he’s been playing the character since the 1980s—that’s almost 40 years! You can be sure that he knows Rambo inside out and will make the movie even more exciting to watch.
#3 The director is a pro at making action movies

The movie is directed by Adrian Grunberg, who’s best known for his work on the action thriller movie Get the Gringo, which he also co-wrote for. With this combo of an experienced action movie star and a director who dabbles in explosive, action-packed movies, you can expect nothing less than an epic experience.
#4 The ladies get into the action too

Every action hero needs the ‘brain’ to help him out. This comes in the form of Paz Vega, whose filmography includes Spanglish and All Roads Lead to Rome. She co-stars as Carmen Delgado, a reporter who may have information Rambo needs to save his niece.
