Attention Riverdale fans, a new Archie Comic’s classic character is coming to life in a new spin off! Welcome, Katy Keene!

For those of you unfamiliar with the name, Katy has appeared in several Archie Comics since 1945. She is a model, actress and singer and is known as “America’s Queen of Pin-Ups and Fashions.”
Riverdale creator, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, revealed the exciting news with a Tweet stating:
“The #Riverdale universe expands! Thrilled to be bringing the adventures of Katy Keene and her New York pals to life! Extra-thrilled to be doing this with my pal Michael Grassi @thatthingofwhen!”
The Hollywood Reporter reported that the latest addition to the Riverdale universe will focus on Katy Keen as an aspiring entertainer. The series will focus on the model and three of her “iconic Archie Comics” friends, Lucki Lorelei, K.O. Kelly (one of Katy’s boyfriends), and Katy’s sister, Sis.
Riverdale showrunners have revealed that the upcoming series will be a “musical dramedy” that centers on the friends as they try to make their dreams come true in New York City.

A premiere date for the series has not yet been revealed and no cast members taking up roles has been announced. Fans however, are rooting for Katy Perry to take on the iconic role!
