Malaysians are most definitely familiar with our resident VFX content creator, Sofyank96…but getting on Deadpool’s radar? That’s something else!
From VFX magic tricks to a full blown CGI performance, junket interviews will no longer be the same after Malaysia’s very own Zach King (aka Sofyank96) raised the bar with his editing skills!
Sofyank96 or Mohamad Sofian Abdullah created an impressive 54 second promotional video with Ryan Reynolds for his latest movie The Adam Project after Sofian grabbed the opportunity to interview Ryan back in March.
In a vlog on his Youtube channel, Sofian shared how they recorded Ryan’s scene over their Zoom call and he proceeded to film himself via green screen for the rest of the sequence before spending the rest of the month editing in post-production.
The end product is without a doubt of 5-star quality and Ryan himself took to Twitter to share Sofian’s video, expressing his admiration over the Malaysian content creator’s work.
Sofian rose to fame on social media over six years ago from his Zach King inspired shorts, performing magic tricks and stunts edited with special effects before he started dabbling in more serious CGI performances - all done from home!
Recognition of his skills have brought him to various star-studded collaborations such as with John Cena for Fast and Furious 9 and Will Smith for Gemini Man.
Over on Twitter, local and international netizens alike are cheering for Sofian stating that he should be hired in Hollywood for his skills in VFX. Others are just proud of our Sofian to have achieved yet another successful project while still portraying his humble background as a self-taught VFX specialist through his behind-the-scenes videos.
