Just as the weather and temperature is changing from cold and rainy to hot and oh em gee so hot in Malaysia, so too is the weather changing in Japan as winter begins to slowly give way to spring.

Now, spring time in Japan is also synonymous with one other thing: sakura-flavoured food stuff!
As if having sakura-flavoured KitKat isn’t enough to make all of us jealous, this year, the good people from the Land of the Rising Sun will be able to enjoy 2 new sakura-flavoured menu items from Starbucks.
First up is the temptingly beautiful thick cake donut with a sakura-coloured glaze topped with salted cherry blossom petal powder. Just look at it! How can you not salivate looking at that beautiful piece of confectionery?!

Next is the sakura chiffon cake, a beautiful pink cake made by mixing the leaves from cherry blossom trees into the flour. The cake is covered in a thick layer of creamy frosting and topped with a salted cherry blossom. So pink! So Insta worthy!
