Now, the rail service has retracted their statement and will be continuing their social distancing measures in compliance with the government’s decision.

In his daily press briefing, Senior Minister for Security Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that the decision to change policies or regulations set by the government when it comes to social distancing rules does not lie with RapidKL
“They can’t simply change what has been decided by the government,” he said. “If they want to make changes, they need to apply to the National Security Council.”

RapidKL has since backtracked on their earlier statement and released a new statement that says it will comply with the governemnt’s decision to continue social distancing measures.
“This policy will be enforced until a new decision is made by the government,” RapidKL said.
“We ask all commuters returning to work on June 10 to follow the policies set and give their full cooperation to the RapidKL staff on duty at stations.”
So if you’re taking the LRT, MRT, or Monorail soon, please be sure to follow the SOPs set out by the rail service and to also keep practicing social distancing.
