Special 'Riverdale' Flashback Episode Sees The Cast As Their Young Parents!

So that's what everyone would look like…

If you're all caught up with season three of Riverdale, you'll know about the special flashback episode that recently aired. For those of you who aren't, this isn't a spoiler really… But if you're worried, look away now.

The episode sees the cast playing their character's parent during their junior year of high school.

Lili Reinhart who plays Betty plays he '90s era mother, Alice; Camila Mendes plays her character, Veronica's, mother, Hermione; Cole Sprouse who plays Jughead is FP; KJ Apa who plays Archie took on the role of Fred; and Madelaine Petsch who plays Cheryl plays Penelope.

Riverdale creator, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa shared a teaser of the episode on his Instagram, captioned: "Some things were different back then… Others, not so much… This Wednesday's #Riverdale is an unmissable blast from the past. Teen FP and Teen Fred streaking, because why not?"

Roberto told Entertainment Weekly, "We wanted to kind of have them do in the past more traditional, innocent, stupid high school things so we came up with the idea of streaking."

It also became apparent as to why KP and Alice have been so desperate to stop their children from playing the game of Gryphons and Gargoyles."

"The mystery we're telling, which is swirling around Gryphons & Gargoyles, we decided to weave the parents further into that story," he continued. "We wanted it to be the sins of the parents visited upon the kids, and we wanted to have the parents having played the game in high school. It felt like to make that real this could be a great opportunity to do the flashback."
