Standard 1, 2, And 3 Students Won't Have To Sit For Exams Starting 2019!

Students in Standard One, Two and Three are in luck!

The Minister of Education, YB Dr Maszlee Malik, just announced that exams for lower primary school students will be repealed next year! Instead, the exams will be replaced with more objective assessments.

Peperiksaan bagi murid Tahap 1 (tahun 1, 2 dan 3) akan dimansuhkan dan akan digantikan dengan pentaksiran yang lebih objektif bermula 2019.

Following the tweet, members of the public took to social media to share their joy about the ruling, believing that it’ll take some weight off the young students’ shoulders.

Langkah positif ke arah menghilangkan beban peperiksaan.. Namun, harap penilaian objektif yg bakal dilaksanakan jangan menjadi beban pula kepada para guru yg menghadapi masalah peningkatan "paper work" seperti di Tingkatan 1,2,3 ke arah PT3.

Sounds good! Please incorporate creativity in their learning as well. Also for learning science, focus shouldn’t be on the scientific terms yet. Have the kids go out and enjoy nature as part of learning science. But pls keep the Dual Language Program (DLP). All the best!
