Fellow party people, you might need to rethink your current New Year’s Eve party plans 'cause Federal Territories Minister, Khalid Samad, plans to ring in 2019 with a new ruling.
He wants clubbing locals to go home at 1am

Speaking at a press conference at the Parliament lobby today, Khalid announced that entertainment outlets in the city centre will no longer be allowed to operate past 1am beginning January 2019.
He said the new regulation will be strictly enforced, though exceptions will be made to outlets that cater to foreign tourists. These outlets will be allowed to operate until 5am with special permission. How "outlets that cater to foreign tourists" will be defined however, is a mystery to us.

He hasn’t mentioned which outlets in particular will be affected, so if you plan on celebrating NYE in KL, you should wait to lock-down your party venue.
We don’t know about you, but TBH, being in bed before 3am sounds pretty good to us!
