Twilight fans, we know you’ve just gotten a brand new book from Stephenie Meyer, but are you ready for more??

That’s right!

The author of the beloved saga has confirmed that more books are on the way and we’re here for it!

Just weeks after the release of Midnight Sun, which took us into the mind of Edward Cullen, the author shared that the series may not be over just yet.

While appearing at a recent virtual event for Books-A-Million, Stephenie said that she’s currently working on not one, but two additional Twilight novels!

“There are two more books I think in the world that I want to write,” she said. “I have got them outlined and a chapter written I think of the first one, so I know it’s there. I am not ready to do that right now, I want to do something brand new.”

For those of you who are expecting a new book immediately, well, you might just have to wait a little longer.

Speaking about her writing process, Stephenie admitted that she’d first need some time away from Forks before diving back into the Twilight universe.

“For me, a lot of the joy of writing comes from creating and I really want to do a new world and new rules and new mythology,” she said. “Mythology is kind of my thing.”

But will these two new books be told in Edward’s perspective as well? We wouldn’t hold our breaths on that.

Since the release of Midnight Sun, fans have been asking for a sequel on Edward’s thoughts. However, Stephenie hasn’t been exactly supportive of that particular idea.

“This is it for Edward,” the author told the New York Times. “Writing from his point of view makes me extra anxious. And the experience of writing this book was not a super pleasant one.”

“I think this gives you enough of a sense of what it’s like to be Edward that you could go and look at the other books and you would know what’s going on in his head,” she added.

While we may not get more of Edward’s thoughts, we’re super excited about the prospect of getting more books in the Twilight universe!
