The love and bond between a pet and its owner is one that’s unbreakable for most. Most of us can’t bear to spend a day without our pets and we usually spend our day waiting to get home to play with them.

However, a recent survey has found that not everyone feels the same. In fact, 40% of people have admitted that they would give up their dog for a month just to keep their phones.

SimpleTexting, a text messaging marketing agency, recently held a survey to find out what pleasures smartphone users would sacrifice to keep their phones.

From the 1,000 users surveyed, the marketing agency found that almost 40% of respondents would rather give up their dog for a month than to spend that time away from their phones. (Monsters.)

In terms of relationships, 44% of the respondents said that they’d rather be away from their significant other for a month instead of giving up their smartphones.

Users were also asked if they’d give up coffee in the same way and 64% stated that they would give up the beverage to be able to hang on to their phones.

Interestingly enough, the survey found that 60% of people were willing to give up social media to keep their phones, and we’re just wondering what exactly they’d be doing on their phones without it…

Smartphone users were even willing to fork out hundreds of dollars to keep their phone for a month with 35% saying they’d pay $500-$2,000 (RM2,008 – RM8,032) just to do so!

You can check out the full survey here.

We’re still shocked that people would be willing to give up their lovable, adorable, cuddly, and frankly, amazing dogs for their phone!

We’re on team doggo for sure and we’d give up our phone for any amount of time to keep our pups!

Would you trade in your doggo for your phone? Are you part of the 40%? Let us know!
