All over the world, many countries have been under lockdown to help stop the spread of COVID-19. However, after months of lockdown, some countries are slowly loosening their lockdown measures, including Thailand.
As lockdown measures loosen, new SOPs have been introduced and put in places like restaurants, to ensure that people practice social distancing.
One restaurant in Bangkok, Thailand, however, has gotten the help of the cutest little pandas to help them in their efforts.

Customers at Maison Saigon in Bangkok are in for a treat as they get to dine with their very own stuffed panda!
“Earlier we had only one chair for the tables where the customer came alone. But for me, it felt strange, so I thought I’d give them some company,” said Natthwut Rodchanapanthkul, the owner of Maison Saigon, a Vietnamese restaurant in Bangkok.
Thanks to the restaurant’s staff, diners get to have this unique experience of having stuffed pandas placed on alternating chairs so as to ensure that customers maintain proper social distancing.

Under Thailand’s social distancing guidelines, customers who dine in must sit diagonally from each other and as this may confuse some people, the restaurant has helped to make things a little easier to understand by placing these stuffed pandas on the seats that should be unoccupied.
An additional benefit of these pandas, according to the restaurant’s owner, is that customers who come alone to dine-in won’t have to sit facing an empty seat, especially after having stayed in their homes for so long.
“Earlier we had only one chair for the tables where the customer came alone. But for me, it felt strange, so I thought I’d give them some company,” said owner Natthwut Rodchanapanthkul.
These adorable pandas, some in little hats, would definitely be the cutest company and also play an important role in social distancing.

Customers have reported that these pandas have helped them to follow physical distancing guidelines and keep them company while dining out.
“It’s a lot easier to understand compared to other restaurants where people always get confused about where to sit and end up sitting too close to each other,” said customer Siriporn Assavakarint.
“The stuffed bear makes me feel less lonely eating by myself,” said Sawit Chaiphuek.
Well this really is the perfect solution to helping people learn how to social distance at restaurants! And it’s definitely helps those who can’t bear to eat alone!
