Thailand Is Set To Experience A Cold December And January!

Temperatures are predicted to go as low as 7°C!

We’re coming to the end of the year, and for many, that means it’s holiday time!

And if your holiday plans include travelling to Thailand between December 2019 and January 2020, you might want to pack your winter clothes (or get some) too!

If you didn’t know, although Thailand is a tropical country, they experience winter each year.

The Thai Meteorological Department announced recently that the country will be in for a cold stretch for most parts of Thailand during December 2019 and January 2020.

Thai PBS World reports that the temperature in Bangkok is expected to dip to as low as 15 to 17°C.

Northern areas such as Chiang Rai is expected to experience temperatures as low as 7-9°C, and Chiang Mai is expected to hover between 12-14°C.

Phuket’s temperature will hover around 22°C while the Sa Kaew and Chonburi region is expected to drop to 15°C.

The report also states that the North and North-Eastern territories will begin dropping by one to two degrees Celsius in October.

Thailand’s winter period usually begins around October and lasts till mid-February, and the Meteorological department has noted that the most coldest months will be from December to mid-January.

Due to the current cold front that has been hanging around northern Thailand since early this month, the nation has been experiencing rain and wind in its northern regions.
