The 2020 School Schedule Is Out And You Can Look Forward To 75 Days Of Holiday!

The year hasn’t even ended yet and we’re already thinking of school holidays next year! And luckily for you, there’s going to be a LOT of holidays in 2020!

It’s time to get your calendars and start planning because the Ministry of Education (MOE) recently released the school schedule for next year and in total, school-goers can look forward to 75 days of holiday!

Schools in Kedah, Johor, Kelantan and Terengganu will begin their school year on 1st January 2020 and have a total of 76 days of holidays. Their schedule will look like this:

While schools in Perlis, Penang, Perak, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Pahang, Sabah, Sarawak, Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya will begin their school year on 2nd January 2020 and have a total of 75 days of holiday with their schedule looking like this:

Bear in mind, these scheduled holidays don’t even include public holidays yet!

Here’s all the public holidays and that schools are entitled to depending on their state:

MOE also states that school head will be allowed to apply for four days of cuti peristiwa (occasional holiday), which doesn’t need to be replaced with weekend classes.

Schools heads can also apply for cuti ganti (replacement holiday) but these holidays will first need to be approved by the respective state education departments.
