According to the Minister of Entrepreneur Development, Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof, Malaysia is expected to launch its “flying car” prototype by the end of 2019 and that the project could take off as early as next year!

While the exact date of the unveil has not yet been revealed, The Star reported that the prototype’s original release date has already postponed from October 2019 to the end of 2019.

According to Malay Mail, the minister noted that the “air mobility” will continue to undergo further development. Speaking to Parliament, he also added that there are currently discussions ongoing with high technology providers.

The minister previously noted that there have been hiccups in completing the prototype due to the ever-evolving technologies that require adaptation. But he added that the ministry is “in talks with a leading learning institution in Europe to bring in newer technology for the flying car project,” Free Malaysia Today reported.

“There are two technologies we are looking at,” said the entrepreneur development minister. “One of them is from a leading institution of higher learning in Europe. We are negotiating to bring the technology here.”

One of the most important messages stressed by the minister is that the “flying car” will be able to cut down travel time!

Instead of driving four hours on the road from Kuala Lumpur to Penang, you’ll be able to reach in just one hour with the new “flying car”!

We can’t wait for Malaysia’s first flying car to become a reality! What are your thoughts on the upcoming car? Let us know!
