If you watched the first season of The Haunting Of Hill House, you’ll remember the chills that ran down your spine as you went through the episodes. If you don’t, we sure do.

And according to the series’ producer, Mike Flanagan, season two is set to be “much scarier than season one.”

Recently, the producer shared more details about the second season, titled The Haunting of Bly Manor, that’s named after the house in Henry James’ classic horror novella, The Turn of the Screw.

Speaking to Birth. Movies. Death., Mike said, “We’re looking at all the ghost stories of Henry James as the jumping-off point for the season, so it very much is a whole new deal.”

“It’s a cool way to expand on some of the things I loved about season one,” he continued. “But within the framework of a new story, without having to be restrained by the decisions we made last time.”

“For Henry James fans, it’s going to be pretty wild,” Mike added. “And for people who aren’t familiar with his work, it’s going to be unbelievable scary. I already think it’s much scarier than season one, so I’m very excited about it.”

If you’re worried about not seeing the faces you’re used to from season one, the producer assured fans that they’ll be seeing plenty of familiar faces.

“We’re hanging the season on Victoria Pedretti and Oliver Jackson-Cohen [who played Nell and Luke Crain, respectively], and in addition to them, there are going to be other familiar actors from season one,” Mike said.

“Beyond that, I’ve got quite a few candidates among new faces who I really love, but we haven’t formally cast anybody yet,” he added.

The second season  is set to begin filming next month and is expected to premiere in 2020.

For those unfamiliar (or just want to know more), The Turn of the Screw is a “1989 story that tells the tale of a governess who goes to Bly Manor to look after two recently orphaned children Miles and Flora, who were under the care of their uncle and had been looked after by housekeeper Mrs Grose.

It’s not long before the governess starts to spot ghostly figures in the house and its grounds.”

We know we’ll regret saying this but we can’t wait to see what The Haunting of Bly Manor will bring! Are you looking forward to season two?
